Jobs Management
Track signed quotes, manage active jobs, and monitor project status.
When a client signs and pays a deposit on your quote, it becomes a job. The Jobs page helps you track all active work, update project status, and manage your workload efficiently.

Jobs Page Overview
Navigate to Jobs from the sidebar to see all your signed work:
- Summary stats at top
- Filter tabs
- Job cards in list/grid
- Search functionality
Summary Stats Cards:
- Count of all jobs
- All statuses included
- Click for full list
- Sum of all job amounts
- Formatted as currency
- Your pipeline value
- Jobs marked complete
- This month or all-time
- Your completion rate
- Currently active work
- Jobs you're working on
- Primary focus
- Quote signed by client
- Deposit payment received

Understanding Job Cards
Each job displays as a card with key information:
Card Elements:
- From the quote
- Primary identifier
- Click to open details
- Who the work is for
- Secondary line
- Total contract value
- Formatted currency
- Current work status
- Color-coded
- Payment status
- Paid/Partial/Unpaid
- Signed date
- Or started date

Pro Tip
Pay attention to payment badges. Jobs with "Unpaid" or "Partial" status need payment follow-up.
Job Status Workflow
Move jobs through the status lifecycle:
Status Progression: 1. Not Started → Initial state after signing 2. In Progress → Work has begun 3. Completed → Work finished
- Any status → Cancelled (if job cancelled)
Changing Status:
Starting Work: 1. Find job card 2. Click "Start Work" or status dropdown 3. Confirm in dialog 4. Status changes to "In Progress" 5. Start date recorded
Completing Work: 1. From "In Progress" job 2. Click "Mark Complete" 3. Confirmation dialog appears 4. Confirm completion 5. Status changes to "Completed" 6. Completion date recorded

- Date will be recorded

- Cancel or Confirm
Locate the Job
Find the job in your list or search by name.
Click Status Action
Click "Start Work" for new jobs or "Mark Complete" for in-progress.
Confirm Change
Review the confirmation dialog and click Confirm.

Filter Tabs
Filter jobs by status using tabs:
Available Tabs:
- Every job regardless of status
- Default view
- Shows total count
- Jobs awaiting work
- Recently signed
- Your queue
- Active work
- Currently underway
- Primary focus
- Finished jobs
- Historical record
- May be hidden by toggle
- Number on each tab
- Updates in real-time
- Empty tabs show (0)
- Click to filter
- Active tab highlighted
- URL updates for bookmarking
- Combined with search
Hide Completed Toggle
Keep your list focused with the hide completed toggle:
- Above job list
- Near filter tabs
- Checkbox or switch UI
Toggle Behavior:
- Completed jobs hidden
- Only active/pending shown
- Cleaner view
- Focus on current work
- All jobs visible
- Including completed
- Full history shown
- Setting saved to localStorage
- Persists across sessions
- Per-browser setting
- Less clutter
- Focus on active work
- Historical when needed
- Toggle as needed
- Affects "All" tab most
- "Completed" tab unaffected
- Other tabs already filtered
Pro Tip
Keep "Hide Completed" on during busy periods. Turn it off periodically to review completed work for invoicing.
Searching Jobs
Find specific jobs quickly:
- Located below tabs
- Search by client name
- Search by project title
- Real-time filtering
- Results filter as you type
- Minimum 2 characters
- Searches name and title
- Case-insensitive
- X button in field
- Or delete text
- Shows all jobs again
- Search works with tabs
- Narrow down quickly
- Newest first (default)
- Oldest first
- Amount: High to Low
- Client name A-Z
- Status grouping

Confirmation Dialogs
Important actions require confirmation:
- Title: "Start this job?"
- Shows job name and client
- Notes field (optional)
- Cancel / Start buttons
- Records start date
- Title: "Mark as Completed?"
- Checklist may appear:
- Notes field
- Cancel / Complete buttons
- Title: "Cancel this job?"
- Warning about implications
- Reason required (dropdown + text)
- Cancel / Confirm buttons
- Cannot be easily undone
- Client requested
- Unable to proceed
- Scope changed
- Schedule conflict
- Other (explain)
Important
Cancelling a job is a significant action. Discuss with the client first and document the reason clearly.
