Starting a Manual Quote
Begin creating your manual quote:
- Dashboard > "Manual Quote" button
- Sidebar > Quotes > New Quote
- From client page > "New Quote"
- Client information form
- Project details section
- Clean, focused interface
- Left: Form sections (scrollable)
- Right: Live preview (desktop)
- Mobile: Form with preview toggle
- Drafts save automatically
- Every 30 seconds
- Also on blur (leaving field)
- "Saved" indicator flashes
Client Information
Enter or select client details:
- Name (required)
- Email (required for sending)
- Phone (optional)
- Address (optional)
- Start typing client name
- Matching clients appear in dropdown
- Click to select and auto-fill
- All fields populate automatically
- Searches name and email
- Shows recent clients first
- Indicates "existing client"
- Can still edit after selection
Client Fields:
- First and last name
- Or business name
- Shows on quote header
- Valid email required
- Used for sending quote
- Client login if they have account
- Formatted automatically
- Click-to-call on public quote
- Optional but recommended
- Project/job site address
- Shows on quote

Start Typing Name
Begin entering the client name. Existing clients will appear.
Select or Create
Click an existing client to auto-fill, or continue typing for new.
Verify Information
Confirm all details are correct before proceeding.
Project Details
Define the project scope:
- Auto-generated from first line item
- Or enter custom title
- Shows prominently on quote
- Keep it clear and descriptive
- Based on line item descriptions
- Updates as you add items
- Can override manually
- Helps with consistency
- Dropdown with common types
- Painting, Flooring, Roofing, etc.
- "Other" for custom types
- Affects template suggestions
- Suggested "What's Included" items

Adding Line Items
Build your quote with line items:
- Click "Add Line Item" button
- Fill in item details
- Item appears in list
- Total updates automatically
Line Item Fields:

- Auto-calculates total

Click Add Line Item
Opens the line item form.
Enter Description
Describe what this line item covers.
Set Quantity & Unit
Enter the quantity and select the unit type.
Enter Unit Price
Set your price per unit. Total calculates automatically.
Save Item
Click Save. Item appears in list. Repeat for more items.
Managing Line Items
Edit, reorder, and organize your line items:
- Click any line item row
- Edit modal opens
- Make changes
- Save or cancel
- Click trash icon on row
- Confirmation required
- Item removed
- Total updates
- Drag handle (⋮⋮) on left
- Drag to new position
- Drop to place
- Order saved automatically
- Click duplicate icon

Adding Project Photos
Include photos with your quote:
- Click "Add Photos" button
- Drag and drop files
- Take photo (mobile)
- Select multiple at once
- Formats: JPG, PNG
- Max size: 10MB each
- Recommended: 1000+ pixels
- Limit: 10 photos per quote
Photo Features:
- Mark photos as "Before" or "After"
- Displayed side-by-side
- Great for renovation quotes
- Star icon to feature
- Featured shows as main image
- Appears in quote cards/list
- Optional description
- Shows below photo
- Helpful context for client
- For "Before" photos
- Click "Generate After"

Payment Schedule
Configure payment terms for the quote:
- 50/50: 50% deposit, 50% completion
- Three Payments: 33/33/34 split
- Full Upfront: 100% before start
- On Completion: 100% when done
- Add any number of milestones
- Set percentage for each
- Name each milestone
- Must total 100%
Creating Custom: 1. Click "Custom Schedule" 2. Add milestone name 3. Set percentage 4. Add more milestones 5. Verify total is 100%

Quote Validity Period
Set how long the quote remains valid:
- 30 days from creation
- Can be changed per quote

- Banner appears when expiring soon
- Expired quotes show warning
- Protects you from price changes

Review and send your completed quote:
- Click "Preview" to see client view
- Full quote displayed

Send Options:
- Click "Send to Client"
- Client receives email with link
- They click to view quote
- You get notification when viewed

Saving & Drafts
Your work is automatically saved:
- Saves every 30 seconds
- Saves when you leave a field
- "Saving..." indicator shows
- "Saved" confirms completion
- Drafts appear in Quotes list
- Status: "Draft"
- Click to continue editing
- Or delete if not needed
- Draft: Can edit freely
- Sent: Limited edits (creates new version)
- Signed: Cannot edit (locked)
- Click "Save Draft" button
- Confirms save completed
- Good before closing browser
- Not required (auto-save works)
- Drafts don't expire
- Keep as long as needed
- Delete when no longer relevant
- Clean up regularly
- If browser crashes, draft saved
- Reopen and continue
- May lose last few seconds of work
